My way of giving back…

The end of any relationship (especially going through a divorce), can be very traumatic and devastating.  Your world is turned upside down and everything that you’ve once known is no more.  This can leave a person feeling at a loss and downright wretched. I know all this from personal experience.  Going through a divorce was one of the most difficult things I had to go through.  For months, I was depressed, sat home, did nothing and cried every day. What to do in these trying Read more [...]

Chapter 2: Hometown Boy

The year is 1984, but I was born in 1967 and my parents divorced when I was eighteen. Growing up in the late sixties and the seventies was different from today. I grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit and world headquarters of the Ford Motor Corporation.  I was just a regular hometown boy. Dearborn was a great town to grow up in, but today looks more like the Middle East due to the cultural change the city went through back in the 1980s. I remember playing at the park near City Hall Read more [...]

How do we grow and rid ourselves of negative feelings?

A person becomes fixated on another because they're not happy with themselves or are dissatisfied with their life. They attract a partner similar to themselves who is seeking to fill the void in their own life; someone to take on the mammoth task of making them Read more [...]

A light breeze blew through the open windows and the day seemed fairly normal. I placed a plate of food in the microwave and set the timer for two minutes. The vent fan whirred softly in the background, and I heard my Read more [...]

When I was married, my life pretty much revolved around my husband, his schedule our home and my job.  So, when I got divorced, I found myself alone and didn’t have anybody to do things with.  I didn’t have any children.  I had friends, but they were all married and busy with their families and their own lives.  I hated the weekends, as I found myself sitting home with nothing to do and feeling lonely.  It was really hard because I love experiencing and seeing things and Read more [...]
