Ingredients for an Easy Shepherd’s Pie
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 20 minutes).
Sauté onions in 4 Tbsp. butter until tender about 10 minutes. If you are adding fresh vegetables, put carrots in with the onions. When onions are done add garlic, ground beef or turkey and brown. Now add frozen vegetables or fresh peas and corn, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth and cook, uncovered, over low heat for 10 minutes, adding more beef broth if needed to keep moist.
Mash potatoes in bowl with 4Tbsp. butter and 3 Tbsp. sour cream, season to taste.
Put the beef mixture in the bottom of the pan and top with mashed potatoes. So not smooth the top take a fork mess it up so it will get golden brown and crust.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
