Going to the gym not only will you feel better and look better but most of the time you will also have a good view. One day I noticed a gentleman that was the appropriate age, about 6 ft. 3 in., handsome and very physically fit. Our workout schedule seemed to be around the same time. One day, I was trying to adjust a weight machine, but it seemed to be stuck. I can be a little on the stubborn side, and I wasn’t going to let this machine get the better of me. I started really trying to pull the thing to adjust it. All of the sudden it let loose and everything came flying down on my thumb. As I’m sitting there in pain hoping no one had noticed I hear a deep French voice behind me saying “Put your thumb in here, it will help.” Keith had gotten a cup of ice for me to put my purple thumb in.
We began talking every time we saw each other at the gym. Several times he asked if I would like to go to the park for a picnic after our workout. The park may be public, but it isn’t like a restaurant, coffee house or the gym. Parks, beaches…… are not an option for me until I know a person very well! It was nice to have someone to work out with and hold me accountable for showing up. While working out, we would share some of our dating stories and laugh. Because I usually only have a date or two with most men. I don’t know about you, but I can tell within about 5 to 10 minutes if there is chemistry and I haven’t found that yet. But, I have made a number of good guy friends! Keith didn’t see it that way and he accused me of being a serial dater, and I said,” I’m not a serial dater. I’m just picky. Why waste both of our time if I am not interested. You can’t make yourself have feelings if they are just not there.” Then I looked at him and asked “Is there anything about you that makes you unique or I might need to know?” The response that he is a nudist surprised me. Without missing a beat, I invited him to come to my church and maybe my Christian Singles Group but that we should keep the nudist stuff quite. I really think nudity trumps perspicacious dating!
We have remained friends, work out, email and give each other advice on the opposite sex ….. but no dating. Keith knows with me clothes are not optional they are required. I can’t date a man that likes to show everything to everyone. I really like my clothes and enjoy picking out what I am going to wear. They keep me warm on a cold winter’s day and they hide all those little flaws that I only allow a special someone to see.
