Survivors of Domestic Violence, Let Your Story Empower Others

Stories of Survivors:
Stories of those who have overcome abuse

As many of you know I am a private practice clinician  an author, and a tv show host…what you may not know is that my greatest passion is connected to a fight against domestic violence and serve as the Executive Director of a domestic violence organization, Acts of Random Kindness (or ARK.)

ARK is in the process of collecting stories of survivors of domestic violence in various stages of rebuilding their lives and recovering from the abuse.  These stories will be compiled, along with poems and other items created by survivors, and published as a book. With proceeds going to ARK Harbor.

Included in these stories we are not only looking for those who were the victims of abuse, but family members as well.  Domestic Violence affects everyone connected with it as such we have included a story from a mother who lost a daughter to domestic violence, and stories from individuals who watched a parent be abused as well.

This book will serve a number of purposes…

1. Copies of the books will be sold and all profits will be used for the creation and construction of ARK Harbor a Domestic Violence Shelter which will serve the eastern counties of Kansas.

2. These books will be used in conjunction with the “Changing Patterns” program.  Copies will be given to those who are members in the group to help them in their process of healing.

3. Copies will be donated to domestic violence shelters for survivors of domestic violence to help them in healing.
