Making the decision to get divorced can be one of the hardest decisions you have faced. Confusion, fear, anger, disappointment are all feelings you may experience. Often you aren’t just thinking about yourself and wondering about your own future, but are concerned about your spouse, their family, your family, possibly your children. The Stress and Anxiety Over the Divorce Will Fade!
It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to experience a wide array of emotions. There’s nothing easy about divorce even if you are the one ending the relationship. As hard as it seems now you will get through it. The pain you feel now will lessen. The stress and anxiety over the divorce will fade. Your children will have better relationships in their futures if YOU make the choice to set a healthy example for them now. You may have to say goodbye to your in-laws. That is okay. You may even have to say goodbye to some of your mutual friends and that’s okay, too. The people who love you will still love you. And learning to say goodbye and let go with dignity and grace is an excellent skill to have.
Learn to love yourself. You are worth more than these feelings you may be experiencing related to your divorce. You can find the love you want and deserve. Use this time to focus on being the best person you know.
